9A and 9B spent their Saturday up at Guyer High School competing in the Guyer Volleybrawl. 9A walked away with runner up in the championship match in their division in a hard fought and close final game with Wichita Falls Ride High School. This was following a 2 1 victory over Weatherford in the semi finals where they won the first set 30 - 29. I think it could have gone a lot further if the cut off wasn't at 30 points! Congratulations 9A and thank you Guyer for hosting!
Coach Buckley (9A) :: We went in to Saturday with some new found confidence and it was fun! The girls had a tough schedule; after an extremely intense semi final game the girls gave all their effort in the championship, but in my opinion we just ran out of gas. I could not be more proud of the transformation the team made in 24 hours and the constant fight they gave till the end. With a few more practices this week and a game against Sachse, I'm excited to build on this weekend and take this team to district
Coach Essary (9B) :: The girls have made several improvements and are fighting every game. This tournament has taught us a lot and every game is helping us prepare for district
JV2 competed in the GISD tournament over 2 days, starting on Thursday and completing on Saturday. The team went 5 for 1 over the 2 days and ended up winning the silver bracket.
Coach Pyron (JV2) :: The girls played great this weekend with their only loss coming the first day of pool play. They ended 5th overall and came home the silver champs!
